Did You Know... The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has published an audit report on levels of non-compliance with food law by commercial cold stores? It found that 63% didn’t comply with pre-requisite programmes (like basic good hygiene and practices), and food safety management systems. Half were also non-compliant in relation to product identification and tracking, and 38% were non-compliant with legal requirements for labelling.

CocaBlue, produced by Babco Europe, is a 111 proof high altitude coca leaf liqueur, made with de-cocainised leaves and exported to 42 countries around the world. In 2012, Morales – a former coca leaf farmer himself – acknowledged that the commercialisation of coca leaf products could bring significant benefits to the Bolivian economy.

Did You Know... A female worker in Lidl’s Mitchelstown store was tied up by two men while they robbed €500 from the outlet? According to the Irish Mirror, she was approached by the men while opening the store around 6 am in the morning of November 14th. The woman was later treated at the scene, and no other workers were reported as injured.
