Did you know… Imperial Tobacco, which owns the John Player brand in Ireland, has seen underlying volumes for its ‘Growth Brands’ portfolio rise 7% in full year 2014/15? According to results issued this morning, the portfolio also saw net revenue up 12% and share up to 6.6%. The group posted tobacco sales of £6.25 billion for the year to 30 September, a rise of 4.3% at constant currency levels.

The Irish Christmas Tree Growers Association recently conducted a consumer survey as part of the ‘Love a Real Tree’ campaign; revealing that 44% of consumers are likely to consider a real tree this year, while 1 in 5 adults say they would always choose one.
Did You Know... Mintel has tipped savoury ice-cream flavours as a trend to watch in the near future, expecting olive oil and black pepper to become increasingly popular ingredients? Its Ice Cream and Desserts UK 2015 report also shows that 48% of British adults are interested in trying ice cream made with ethnic ingredients, while 39% are interested in hot and spicy flavoured ice cream.
Did You Know... Baby food brand Cow & Gate has put out a recall notice website for its Sunny Start My First Banana Muesli, pack size, 330g with a best before date of 27/09/2016, due to possible insect contamination. Point of sale recall notices will be displayed in stores that may have sold the product, and the company has advised that the product should not be consumed.
Did You Know... Marks & Spencer was forced to temporarily suspend its website last Tuesday night, when an ‘internal technical problem’ gave customers access to other people’s details when they logged into their accounts? In a statement, the retailer assured customers that no financial details were compromised in the incident, and has apologised for the inconvenience.
