Londis Announces New Leadership Team

At this year’s Londis Conference, Londis announced some newly promoted appointments to the Londis Leadership team, as well as a new appointment from outside the group.

The strengthening of the team is part of brand director John Pattison’s ongoing commitment to the turnaround plan of the Londis Brand, delivering on the promise he made earlier this year to provide a compelling symbol brand offer, making Londis simpler to do business with and delivering profitable growth for its independent retail partners and the brand.

In terms of promotions, John Ridgley has been promoted from forecourt development director to retail director. John will lead Londis' field retail team, made up of regional directors, regional development and forecourt development controllers, as well as a new team focussed on new business development. Meanwhile, Paul Adams will continue in his role as head of central operations, with his role now being promoted to be part of the Londis Leadership team.

There was also some restructuring within the team as John Taylor, head of trading has moved to a newly created role as head of loyalty. John’s remit will be to work with four key stakeholder groups to improve retail partner purchasing loyalty within the brand.

Elsewhere, Des Dunbar has been recruited into the role of head of trading, to take over from John Taylor. Des’ career has seen him in roles at Somerfield, Kwik Save, Iceland, The Co-Operative and most recently Tesco, where his roles have included heading up ranging and promotions for Tesco Express.

That leaves the remainder of the management team as Simon Palmer(head of change), Caroline Forty(head of HR), Michael Hayes(head of marketing) and Ben Ramsey(head of finance).

Pattison had the following to say on the new team: “I am very pleased to announce the strengthening of the Londis Leadership team. Each member of the team brings with them a wealth of experience, internally from the brand and externally. With their knowledge of the marketplace, I truly believe that this is the team that will take Londis into a bold and exciting future. Collectively, they embody the Spirit of Londis and we are all committed to making the brand simpler to do business with, supporting our Independent Retail Partners to grow locally.”
