Musgrave Group has announced a series of appointments to its Londis leadership team in the UK, as the business seeks to continue its turnaround strategy.
Former forecourt development director John Ridgley has been named retail director, while Paul Adams’ role as head of central operations has been upgraded to be part of the Londis leadership team.
In addition, former Tesco executive Des Dunbar has been appointed head of trading, taking over from John Taylor, who takes on the role of head of loyalty. Taylor will assume his new position on May 1, with Dunbar set to assume his role a month later.
“Each member of the team brings with them a wealth of experience, internally from the brand and externally,” said John Pattison, Londis brand director.
“With their knowledge of the marketplace, I truly believe that this is the team that will take Londis into a bold and exciting future. Collectively, they embody the Spirit of Londis and we are all committed to making the brand simpler to do business with, supporting our Independent Retail Partners to grow locally.”
Musgrave’s Londis operation has faced challenges in recent years, with Musgrave last October cutting ties with around 200 of its worst performing outlets.
The restructuring of the Londis leadership team follows on from the appointment of Roisin Brennan as a non-executive director at Musgrave last week. Brennan has been on the board of DCC since 2005, and is also chairman of UTV Ireland.
