Directors for Tesco Mobile have said that the communications firm has "thrived in a very competitive market", due to "compelling customer propositions" and offers that are "really resonating with our customers".
The directors made their comments in Tesco Mobile's financial report for the year to end 31 December 2013, published last week. It showed that the company posted a loss before tax of €11,000 for the period, while revenues stood at €30.26 million.
Last year, Tesco Mobile posted a profit before tax of €286,000, on the back of revenues of €34.04 million.
In the accounts, Tesco Mobile also reveal that the sale of the Télefonica Ireland business in Ireland last year to Hutchinson Whampoa, owner of the 'Three' brand, includes Télefonica Ireland's shareholding in the Tesco Mobile business.
A total of 18 people were employed by Tesco Mobile in the period. The company's board of directors includes Geoff Byrne, Tesco Ireland's Personnel and Business Change Director and Henry Dummer, Tesco Ireland Marketing Director.
