Tesco Ireland has revealed a number of fund raising initiatives that it has in place to support its local community, at the opening of its 149th Tesco in Swords, Co.Dublin.
According to Gary Redmond, Swords store manager, "The store will also support the Swords community specifically through our Tesco Community Fund initiative and we will channel our surplus food to the local Swords initiatives that need it most through our partnership with FoodCloud. We will also support Tesco’s Charity Partner Temple Street through in-store fundraising."

It also outlined that the store will employ 85 people in total. with 70 colleagues coming from the local area including 42 from Swords.
Speaking at the official store opening Tesco Ireland CEO, Andrew Yaxley said: “We are delighted to be able to create 85 new permanent positions at our new Tesco store in Swords which is a great boost for the local community."
Located at Airside Retail Park, the new includes four ancillary units to include a café, pharmacy, medical centre and take away.
