Employers from the public and private sector across the country took place in last Friday’s second National Workplace Wellbeing Day, which aims to improve the health of Irish employees by promoting healthier habits at work. Activities included health checks, classes, talks and cookery demonstrations, as well as the 'Lunchtime Mile' – a one-mile jog, run or walk in the vicinity of participating workplaces.
Irish milk supply rose by 13% in 2015, reports Agriland.ie, and is expected to continue increasing. At the recent International Dairy Federation conference, the chief executive of Ornua, Kevin Lane, said that milk supply is expected to increase again by between 8 and 10% this year.

Savills has listed four retail complexes with SuperValu stores as their primary tenants as up for sale, with a guide price of €80 million for the entire portfolio. Dublin’s Luas drivers have announced six more days of strike action, set to take place over the next six weeks, as the dispute over pay continues. SIPTU says the strikes will take place on 28 April, as well as 4, 13, 20, 27 May. A four-hour work stoppage will also take place on 26 May.
Co.Down-based Clandeboyne Estate Yoghurt has won a contract to supply Aldi in the Republic of Ireland. The supplier recently installed second pot filling line representing a £70,000 investment, to support the new business.
Retail Excellence Ireland and ISME have come together to call for the creation of an an “IDA-style” government agency to look after the interests of Irish SMEs.” IrishExaminer.com says the call was made in a joint letter for Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, and other political parties, raising concerns about where Irish business policies are heading.
