18 Tesco stores out of 24 have rejected mandate's plans for strike action so far this week, according to a statement the retail giant issued today.
Tesco has called on Mandate to abandon its strike action which has been undergoing since Valentine's Day and 'to accept the recommendations of the Labour Court, made last March'.
According to a Tesco spokesperson, "Mandate’s reckless actions are impacting on other retailers in shopping centres too. Mandate seek to say this is due to where pickets are placed but it is in fact to do with the behaviour of the pickets who are seeking to block access to shopping centres and their car parks.
Mandate and ICTU's calls for customers to shop at non-union stores is an unfathomable action for the trade union movement and a serious disregard for Labour Court Recommendations and the industrial relations processes of the State.
All Tesco stores will remain open throughout the dispute.
