Did you know ...? SPAR International has granted a licence to Uzbekistan-based retailer Korzinka to operate the SPAR brand in the country. The move will see SPAR opening its first store in Uzbekistan by mid-2024, reports ESMmagazine.com. David Moore, director of international retail and development and a member of the board of SPAR International, said, “We are pleased to welcome the Korzinka company from Uzbekistan to the international SPAR network. The driving force behind SPAR’s success has always been the close collaboration between retailers that serve local communities with integrity.”
Did you know ...? A study by the consumer association Deco Proteste found that Mercadona, El Corte Inglés/Supercor and My Auchan are the most popular supermarket chains among Portuguese consumers, reports ESMmagazine.com. According to the study, 55% of consumers go to the supermarket once or twice a week, 67% pay with a debit card, and 53% visit the same supermarket every week. Moreover, close to three quarters (74%) have never purchased items from an online supermarket. The most important factor for consumers when choosing a supermarket is price, followed by product satisfaction and store comfort, the data showed. Proximity to home or work featured as the most common reason for choosing a particular supermarket.
