Agri Aware Promotes Healthy Eating With Incredible Edibles

Over 68,000 primary school students will begin their Incredible Edibles journey with Agri Aware this Monday 24 February.

Incredible Edibles is Agri Aware’s flagship primary school programme, now in its 18th year.

It is an experience-based healthy eating project for primary schools.

The programme shows children how to grow fruits and vegetables, learn about where food comes from, and the importance of quality, sustainable food.

Incredible Edible has undergone some changes ahead of the 2025 rollout, with the number of tasks reduced from five to four to complete, as well as the addition of quizzes and the a new “school of the month” competition.

The programme also highlights the important role fresh produce plays in a healthy, balanced diet and the importance of consuming at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day.

‘Making Good Choices’

Speaking ahead of the Incredible Edible launch, Agri Aware executive director Marcus O’Halloran said, “Incredible Edibles is a hugely popular programme in primary schools, proven by the fact that it is now going into its 18th year of delivery.

“There have been some changes to the programme this year with refreshed tasks, fun quizzes and a School of the Month competition which will give students a chance to be rewarded for all their efforts with each task.

“We are confident that the changes and new additions to the programme this year will further engage students in the programme and make it an even more enjoyable experience.

“The importance of primary school students knowing where their food comes is vital to ensure students not only appreciate the work that goes into producing food from a young age in this country, but also making good choices regarding eating habits.
