Aldi has today (Thursday, August 20) opened a new store in Ardkeen, Waterford City, marking its fifth store in Waterford and its 117th nationwide.
To celebrate the new opening, Aldi served up breakfast and treats throughout the morning, with many of the samples prepared with produce from Irish suppliers.
The day was also filled with family-friendly activities, with local radio station Beat 102-103’s Beat Fleet providing face painting, balloon modelling, music and games for the kids. Five shoppers also won €100 each in Aldi shopping vouchers.
Speaking at the opening, Donncha Buckley, Manager of the Ardkeen store said, “We are delighted to open our new Ardkeen store and look forward to welcoming many new customers from the local area.”
He added, “Each Aldi store we have opened so far has been a fantastic success and we are looking forward to serving the local community.”
