Aldi Ireland Announces That Work Has Commenced On New Ennis Store

Today, Aldi Ireland announced that work has commenced on its newest store in Ennis, investing €3.5 million into its construction.

The new premises is located in Westpoint Retail Park, and the build will create 50 jobs for the area in the construction phase.

Aldi’s second Ennis store will also create 30 permanent jobs in the locality, once the building works are completed.

The store will be powered by 100% renewable electricity and is expected to open later this year.

The supermarket will feature a 96-space car park, with an additional 20 bike-parking spaces for customers cycling to the store.

‘Project Fresh’

As well as constructing stores and spreading its network throughout Ireland, Aldi has continued upgrading established stores as part of its ‘Project Fresh’ initiative.

Last week, the retailer announced that its revamped Newlands Cross store, in Clondalkin, Co. Dublin, was opening to the public.

The renovation saw sustainability improvements to the store, as well as new fittings and an improved layout, to highlight fresh and healthy food to shoppers.

The Newlands Cross upgrade was part of a €1 million investment in the store.
