Aldi Ireland Is Most-Awarded Discounter At Blas na hÉireann 2024

Aldi Ireland and its team of suppliers and producers enjoyed outstanding success at Blas na hÉireann 2024, walking away with 40 awards.

The discounter took home 15 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze awards across multiple categories, showcasing Aldi’s commitment to supporting Irish suppliers and offering customers the best-quality food.

The extremely competitive and renowned food awards took place on 4 October at a ceremony in Dingle, Co. Kerry, where the best of Irish food was on display.

The Specially Selected Irish Wagyu Rib-Eye Joint with Irish Atlantic Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper-Infused Beef Marrow were among Aldi’s standout winners.

The latter earned a prestigious gold award in the ‘Beef – Roast’ category. ABP Cahir produces the product exclusively for Aldi.

This year, Aldi’s gold-winning products were produced by Oakpark Foods, ABP Cahir, Silverhill Duck, IGWT, Cashel Farmhouse Cheesemakers, Crust & Crumb Ltd, O’Hara’s Bakery, Folláin and CPAC Foods, to name a few.

Now in their 17th year, the Blas na hÉireann – Irish Food Awards are the biggest competition for quality produce on the island of Ireland.

With 150 categories, they recognise excellence in the food-and-drink industry.

Speaking about this year’s awards, the managing director of buying and services at Aldi Ireland, Colin Breslin, said, “We are delighted to see so many of our home-grown products recognised at this year’s Blas na hÉireann – Irish Food Awards.
