Aldi Ireland Launches ‘Flat’ Recycled PET Wine Bottles

Aldi Ireland is launching two wines onto the market, packaged in new, lightweight, fully recyclable ‘flat’ PET plastic bottles.

The retailer is bringing Chapter & Verse Shiraz and Chardonnay (both 75cl and €7.99) to the market in the new bottles, made from 100% recycled PET.

Aldi is setting a new standard, to ensure that shoppers can sip more easily this summer, as the first Irish supermarket to offer own-brand ‘flat’ recycled PET wine bottles.

The new bottles are easier to handle, less likely to break, and offer a reduced carbon footprint.

The innovative bottles cut down on waste and feature a compact design that enables 30% more bottles to fit onto each pallet, reducing the need for lorry transportation by 30%.

This translates to lighter shopping bags for the shopper and a reduced environmental footprint in the supply chain.

The eco-friendly bottles are perfect for a variety of summer occasions, from casual gatherings, barbecues and parties to camping trips and festivals, such as Electric Picnic.

Chapter & Verse wines deliver the same taste and quality that Aldi has always provided, while offering a more sustainable packaging option for consciously minded customers.

The new PET bottles have also been approved for use via Ireland’s Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).
