Aldi Ireland has won 13 two-star awards and 65 one-star awards at the 2024 Great Taste Awards, which took place on 30 July.
The retailer’s two-star winners include the Specially Selected Irish Wagyu Beef Rib-Eye Steak, produced by ABP Cahir.
The awards also recognised Aldi’s Specially Selected Irish Smoked Mackerel and Specially Selected Dry-Cured Applewood-Smoked Irish Half Horseshoe Ham.
The haul means that Aldi maintains its position as Ireland’s most-awarded discount supermarket.
Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Foods, is the world’s largest and most trusted food accreditation scheme.
Since 1994, Great Taste’s esteemed judging panel – which includes chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers from around the world – has rigorously tested thousands of products.
Judges blindly taste test each product, ensuring an impartial process.
This guarantees that customers can trust that only the best-tasting products will have earned the Great Taste seal of approval.
‘Heartfelt Congratulations’
Speaking about the wins, the group buying director at Aldi Ireland, John Curtin, said, “To have so many of our products and suppliers recognised at one of the industry’s most respected awards is incredibly gratifying, both for ourselves and our incredible suppliers.
“We are committed to offering delicious, high-quality produce at everyday affordable prices to our customers.
“Taste, quality, and locally sourced produce is central to everything we do.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our fantastic suppliers – this recognition is a testament to their hard work and commitment.”
This year, products from across Aldi’s core and seasonal ranges received top honours at the Great Taste Awards.
The food industry as a whole highly regards these awards, so this recognition speaks volumes about Aldi’s commitment to offering great-tasting and high-quality Irish-made products to its customers.
