Aldi Ireland Unveils Renovated Nutgrove ‘Project Fresh’ Store

Aldi Ireland has unveiled its revamped store in Nutgrove, Rathfarnham following an extensive renovation project worth €1 million as part of ‘Project Fresh.’

The updated Nutgrove store now features the award-winning layout which includes fresh food at the front of the store, hi-spec fixtures and fittings throughout the store as well as new category signage to provide a seamless shopping experience.

Aldi Nutgrove’s customer-focused layout allows for customers to easily find the products they know and love while discovering new ranges.

The store's makeover is based on Aldi’s ‘Project Fresh’ design.

The design won a Checkout National Grocery Retail Award for the design of its Adamstown store.

Project Fresh Enhanced

Last year, Aldi invested €7.2 million in upgrading six stores throughout Ireland as part of Project Fresh Enhanced.

The new project introduced exciting new units in-store, such as a fresh herb stand, a dedicated bread and cake fixture, and a health and beauty feature.

Aldi has begun the installation of self-checkout in a number of stores, including the revamped Nutgrove premises.

The trail of these checkouts began in May, with Aldi committed to retaining this service for customers while continuing to innovate for store efficiency.

‘A Very Enjoyable Shop’

Speaking at the reopening, the store manager of Aldi Nutgrove Piotr Werecki said, “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers.

“The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop and customers can easily find everything they need with convenient store opening hours.

“We are also thrilled to take part in the trial of Aldi’s brand new self-checkouts.

“Our promise to our Dublin customers is that we will never be beaten on price, and we will always provide the best value.

“In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in Aldi.”

As well as increased efficiency and an improved layout, the store has received a CO2 upgrade, meaning refrigeration in store will be more environmentally friends.

This, along with wind generated energy powering 100% of Aldi's store network and the retailer's ISO 50001 accreditation, mean the Nutgrove store is contributing significantly to Aldi’s wider sustainability goals.

The new store is also part of Aldi’s Community Grants network, providing support in recent years to Women’s Collective Ireland, Tallaght Cancer Support Group and the Irish Heard Foundation.
