Aldi Ireland today opened its first store in County Monaghan, located on Riverside Road, Carrickmacross.
This brings the total number of Aldi stores tin Ireland to 108 and ensures that the company has a presence in every county in the Republic.
To celebrate the opening of the new store – which will employ 20 people – Aldi’s “Taste Truck” rolled into Carrickmacross to serve tasty breakfast treats to customers. Each breakfast was prepared using products from Aldi’s breakfast range using ingredients sourced from Irish suppliers.
iRADIO’s iTEAM were also on site with plenty of games and balloons for the kids to mark the opening of the new outlet.
“We are delighted to reach the milestone of operating a store in each of the 26 counties,” said Aldi’s regional managing director Donal Mackay.
“Aldi has consistently been the fastest growing supermarket in the country for the past six years. Each week, more and more Irish families are visiting our stores.”
“Buying fresh, quality Irish foods in Monaghan just got easier thanks to the opening of our new Aldi store,” said Bernard Clarke, who will manage the new Carrickmacross store.
“Each Aldi store we have opened so far has been a fantastic success and we are looking forward to serving the local community.”
