Aldi’s ProKulture Specially Selected Organic Kombucha, produced by Kildare-based supplier Kildare Brewing Company, has earned high praise from the Private Label Manufacturing Association at the World Private Label International Salute to Excellence Awards 2022.
The award highlights ALDI’s impressive range of private-label products, acknowledging the retailer’s commitment to its private-label programme and innovation within the category and international recognition for Irish suppliers such as organic Kombucha supplier ProKulture, who produce Specially Selected Organic Blood Orange & Turmeric Kombucha.
According to the discounter, ProKulture was first recognised by Aldi as a stand-out entrant to its Grow With Aldi programme in 2020 and has since become a permanent fixture on shelves at ALDI stores nationwide. ProKulture is the latest venture from Kildare Brewing Company, an independent family-run brewery based in Sallins, Co. Kildare who also founded Kildare’s first brew-pub Lock 13.
Natural Alternative
Kombucha is widely seen as a natural alternative to sugary soft drinks and indeed alcoholic beers. The award-winning ProKulture Specially Selected Organic Kombucha Blood Orange & Turmeric flavour is now available in 150 ALDI store nationwide retailing at €2.69/330ml.
Speaking about the recent award win, Barry Flanagan, founder of ProKulture Organic Kombucha, said, “We are over the moon to receive this award from Private Label Manufacturing Association. It is both a testament to the quality of our organic kombucha and to ALDI’s commitment to championing local Irish producers. ALDI is passionate about bringing innovative private-label products to market and we have experienced their mentorship first-hand.
"We entered the Grow With ALDI programme back in 2020 and since then our relationship with the retailer has gone from strength to strength. Today, our Specially Selected Blood Orange & Turmeric Organic Kombucha is produced exclusively for ALDI and can be found in 150 ALDI stores nationwide.”
