Alpro Finds Ireland Is A Nation Of Early Risers But Not Eating Enough Protein

New research by Alpro has found that Ireland is a nation of early risers, though most are not eating enough protein to fuel their morning.

Alpro’s survey found that almost three quarters (74%) of respondents complete their entire morning routine in less than 60 minutes, and 46% said they tackle four to 16 tasks by 7am each day.

These tasks include starting a wash load, emptying the dishwasher and having a shower before breakfast.

Alpro Plant Protein helps to bridge the gap between good intentions and a protein-packed breakfast to fuel the day.

Almost all Irish people surveyed (96%) recognise the importance of protein in their diet, yet only 8% feel their breakfast contains enough.

Alpro Plant Protein offers a tasty and plant-based solution which will help consumers meet their protein goals without compromising on taste.

Donncha’s Morning Routine

To test the effectiveness of the product, Alpro challenged rugby legend Donncha O’Callaghan to try out an unrealistic morning routine fuelled by Alpro.

After waking up at the crack of dawn (2.30am to be exactly), Donncha squeezed in multiple gym sessions and braved an ice bath.

It was no mean feat but the Alpro Plant Protein range kept him fuelled throughout.

To celebrate the launch of the range, Alpro has teamed up with saunas in Dublin, Cork and Galway to offer fans a chance to take on a new morning challenge – for free.

Alpro is encouraging people to start their day with an ice plunge and sauna in the Sea Sauna, Tower Bay Beach Car Park, Portrane, Co. Dublin; Driftwood Sauna, Spiddal Pier, An Spidéal, Co. Galway; or Wild Wellness Cork, Garretstown Beach, Garretstown, Kinsale, Co. Cork.

Alpro will be taking over those saunas on Saturday 27 July 2024 and more information about booking can be found on each sauna’s booking website.

‘Start Our Day The Right Way’

Speaking about the research, brand manager at Alpro Lydia Cummins said, “Our research shows that although Ireland is a nation of early risers, we haven’t cracked our protein intake at the start of the day.

“Although almost all Irish people recognise the importance of protein in their diet, one third don’t have enough in their breakfast.

“We may be good at getting up early, but we also need to start our day the right way.
