Applegreen And Stonehouse Announce New Partnership

Applegreen and Stonehouse Marketing Ltd have agreed a new partnership, to bring the latter to a number of the former’s locations across Ireland.

With a network of cash-and-carry depots across Ireland, Stonehouse owns the Homestead and White Hat brands.

Established in early 2000, Stonehouse is one of Ireland’s leading independent wholesale companies, with a network of 14 member companies – all family-run businesses – and a total of 18 warehouses nationwide.

The group’s current members employ more than 600 staff members and maintain a turnover of approximately €500 million per annum.

Referring to Applegreen, chief executive Tom Shipsey said that, since its inception, it has been a brand based on quality and trust.

“I have been a huge admirer of the growth and strategic direction of Applegreen,” Shipsey said.

Proud Irish Brand

Applegreen opened its first service station in Ballyfermot, in 1992, and now operates almost 200 locations in the Irish market.

Commenting on the new partnership with Stonehouse, Fiona Matthews, managing director of Applegreen Ireland, added, “As a proud Irish brand, we look forward to working with our new colleagues in Stonehouse, which has been serving the independent Irish retail sector for more than 40 years.

“Becoming a member of the Stonehouse network will help Applegreen continue to optimise our distribution network.”
