Over 250 people attended the annual BWG Foods supplier briefing event last week, to discuss the industry and identify future opportunities.
The event, titled ‘Partners for Success’, saw a mix of Irish and international suppliers travel to Lawlor’s Hotel in Naas, Co. Kildare.
Suppliers discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the convenience retailing sector and identified options for innovative partnerships to drive mutual performance, moving forward.
The key areas for discussion included increasing the resilience of supply chains, protecting retailer margins, building supplier production and storage capacity, and trialling innovative product concepts, as well as call-outs for a greater focus on shared sustainability initiatives, going forward.
Part of the event involved a forum for networking and further collaboration, following presentations from senior leaders across BWG Foods and a series of panel discussions hosted by broadcaster Joe Molloy.
Some special guests also made an appearance to give their own perspective on successful partnerships, including leading Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore.
Recent Olympic gold medallists Kellie Harrington, Fintan McCarthy and Paul O’Donovan also made a special appearance at the event.
