BWG Foods’ Spar, Eurospar, Mace and Londis retail brands have been announced as finalists in a variety of categories at the upcoming Irish Sponsorship Awards 2024.
The Irish Sponsorship Awards originally launched in 2012.
The awards aim to recognise and reward the brands, rights-holders, agencies and media owners who play a crucial role in the delivery of world-class sponsorship programmes executed in Ireland.
This year, BWG Foods is celebrating four of its retail brands making it through to the finals.
Nominations
Eurospar has been shortlisted in three categories for the sponsorship of Junk Kouture, ‘the world’s largest sustainable fashion competition for young people.’
Having sponsored the competition since April 2023, Eurospar is now nominated in the categories of Best Arts and Cultural Sponsorship, Best Multi-Platform Sponsorship, and Best Societal Sponsorship.
Spar has been shortlisted in two categories for the Spar 60th Anniversary Community Fund programme.
The Irish Sponsorship Awards have recognised the fund in the categories of Best Sports Team or Athlete Sponsorship and Best Societal Sponsorship.
Mace will be up for Best Sports Team or Athlete Sponsorship and Best Use of Social Media, for its ‘Mace Right Options – Coach Johnny’ campaign, with Johnny Sexton.
Finally, Londis has been shortlisted in the Best TV Broadcast Sponsorship for Ireland’s Fittest Family.
Following the announcement in October that Londis would sponsor Ireland’s Fittest Family for another year, the sales director at Londis, Conor Hayes, welcomed the news.
Hayes said, “The show is a great fit for our values at Londis, with its focus on family and communities nationwide, as well as the platform it provides us to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.”
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 26 September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Santry.
