CBRE has announced the appointment Simon Plunkett as an associate director of the company, welcoming his extensive experience in the retail sector.
Over the last decade, Plunkett has specialised in the retail and investment sectors, having been involved in a number of shopping centre portfolio sales on behalf of institution clients, including the sale of Galway’s Eyre Square Shopping Centre for €22.5 million to Marathon.
He has previously headed a team of five in DNG’s Commercial Agency Division, building a strong track record for retail lettings and, in particular, the estate management of high street retail clients with large property portfolios.
Florence Stanley, deputy managing director at CBRE Ireland, commented on the appointment, “We’re delighted to have Simon on board. It’s an exciting and dynamic time within the Irish retail property sector.
“Where on the back of improving retail sales, positive momentum and increased occupier activity has been building in the better high street, shopping centre and retail park schemes around the country. And with local councils and landlords becoming more proactive in working towards a solution to double-digit vacancy rates in high street locations, Simon’s experience will add considerable value to CBRE’s retail landlord client base.”
