Checkout has today announced the winners in the second annual National Grocery Retail Awards.
The winners were revealed today in an online awards ceremony at 12 noon.
The new awards scheme is an amalgam of Ireland’s premier awards for fresh food retailing, the Checkout Best in Fresh awards, and the leading awards for suppliers to the industry, the Checkout National Retail Supplier awards.
The National Grocery Retail Awards highlight best-in-class performance in retailing and honour the companies and suppliers that help Ireland’s pioneering stores and retail chains to achieve levels of service and product excellence that set them apart from their competitors.
“The individual stores, retailers and suppliers that have excelled in these awards are those that have demonstrated innovation and responsiveness to consumer trends,” says Maev Martin, editor, Checkout magazine.
“These are the hallmarks of a leading grocery supply and retail operation. Our winners continue to set new standards because they bring their passions and dreams of what a store can be to life to create the perfect shopping experience,” Martin adds.
For the first time this year, due to the stellar standard of stores the National Grocery Retail Awards judges were fortunate to visit, Checkout have also decided to acknowledge a select number of high-performing stores that narrowly missed out on a nomination as a finalist. These “highly commended” stores exhibit tremendous operating standards and are therefore worthy of distinction and high praise for their commitment to retailing excellence.
