Checkout has announced the winners of the prestigious National Grocery Retail Awards 2023 during a gala awards ceremony at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin, on Friday, 10 November.
These awards, now in their third year, combine the legacy of Checkout’s previous awards, including the Best in Fresh awards, and celebrate best-in-class performance across all areas of grocery retailing.
"Today's Irish grocery retail landscape is not just about transactions; it's about creating memorable, engaging experiences for consumers," states Maev Martin, editor of Checkout magazine.
"The winners and finalists of the National Grocery Retail Awards 2023 are industry leaders who have not just kept pace with changing consumer trends, but have been at the forefront, innovating and inspiring. Their dedication to excellence is not just a business strategy; it is a passion that transforms every aspect of grocery shopping into an experience that resonates with and delights customers. These awards celebrate their commitment to excellence,” Martin adds.
This year's ceremony was notable for introducing an inaugural initiative to commend local stores for their exceptional community service.
Acknowledging that excellence extends beyond the winners' circle, Checkout has introduced a 'Highly Commended' citation.
This recognition celebrates stores that, while not finalists, have achieved notable scores in our independent audits, demonstrating their unwavering dedication to serving their customers.
