Checkout Unveils Winners Of The National Grocery Retail Awards 2024

Checkout announced the winners of the prestigious National Grocery Retail Awards 2024 during a gala ceremony at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin, on Thursday 10 October.

These awards, now in their third year, combine the legacy of Checkout’s previous awards, including the Best in Fresh awards, and celebrate best-in-class performances across all areas of grocery retailing.

“Today’s Irish grocery retail landscape is not just about transactions – it’s about creating memorable, engaging experiences for consumers,” states Maev Martin, editor of Checkout magazine.

“The winners and finalists of the National Grocery Retail Awards 2024 are industry leaders who have not just kept pace with changing consumer trends, but have been at the forefront, innovating and inspiring. Their dedication to excellence is not just a business strategy – it is a passion that transforms every aspect of grocery shopping into an experience that resonates with and delights customers. These awards celebrate their commitment to excellence,” Martin adds.

This year’s event also honoured local stores for their exceptional community contributions by awarding the ‘Highly Commended’ distinction. Introduced last year, this accolade recognises stores that, while not finalists, achieved notable scores in independent audits, underscoring their role as pillars of local engagement and their steadfast dedication to their customers.
