Cork County Council Wins Award for Regional Food Marketing Initiative

Chambers Ireland has honoured Cork County Council with an “Excellence in Local Government Award for its role in the Taste Cork marketing initiative. Taste Cork won the award in the “Supporting the Local Economy” category.

Taste Cork is a collective marketing project, harnessing enterprise supports, training services and networking opportunities under a single regional brand. The project is being delivered in co-operation with the Local Enterprise Offices.

Speaking after the awards, Cllr. Alan Coleman, Mayor of County Cork, said, “County Cork is Ireland’s centre of good food and it hosts the single largest concentration of food businesses in the country.” Tim Lucey, Chief Executive of Cork County Council, added that the project “delivers a wide range of […] marketing and training support, and practical assistance such as low cost food production facilities that can be rented by food businesses through the Enterprise Kitchens Programme.”
