CSNA, Magazines Ireland Launch Magazines Sales Promotion

Irish magazine titles will be available at half price during the summer, as part of an initiative launched last week by the CSNA in association with Magazines Ireland.

Starting tomorrow, June 4th, consumers that purchase the Irish Times or the Irish Daily Mail will be able to purchase a featured magazine at half price. Featured titles will include Business Plus, House and Home, Image, Prudence, RTE Guide and Woman’s Way.

“This promotion of Irish magazines and newspapers in our stores is a great opportunity to showcase the best of Irish magazine and newspaper publishing to our customers and we hope to roll it out to our other stores after the initial launch," said CSNA chief executive Vincent Jennings.

According to Grace Aungier, CEO, Magazines Ireland, “Magazine shoppers spend more in store than non-magazine shoppers, and also shop more frequently, driving customers into store where they buy complimentary items such as newspapers, lottery, confectionery, snacks and drinks, and thus making them an ideal customer.

"There is a bright future for magazines but it must be underpinned by continued investment in the category by all players within the supply chain and the Convenience Store and Newsagents’ Association are key players in the industry”.
