Daybreak Newhall in Naas, Co. Kildare has been named ‘Overall Store of the Year’ at the annual Daybreak Store of the Year Awards.
The ceremony took place on 6 March at the Heritage Killenard, Co. Laois.
The Newhall store, operated by Top Oil and headed by manager Briege O’Kane, took the top prize for the night.
The busy forecourt, which has been part of the Daybreak group since 2022, was recently refurbished.
The improvement works included introducing the Daybreak exclusive Munch & Co. deli and Lickety Split ice cream as well as 9 Grams coffee brands.
Fifteen retailers were shortlisted for the overall award, which recognises excellence in convenience retailing.
Judges assessed the retailers against rigorous criteria, covering all key areas in operating a store.
These included value execution, customer service, products, services, food safety and the overall store environment.
In addition to Store of the Year, prizes were awarded in categories such as customer service, food to go, hot beverages and charity merit.
