Dealz has announced it is set to open its latest Irish store at Carrickmines Park in Dublin this month, creating 40 new jobs.
Located in Phase 2, Dealz will occupy the former Mothercare store, which adjoins Pet Stop and Sports Direct, and will extend to 930 sq m (10,000 sq ft), making it one of the largest in the retailer’s portfolio of over 2,500 stores across Europe, the discount retailer said.
Long-established retailers at Carrickmines Park include Boots, Harvey Norman, IKEA, Lifestyle Sports and Woodies.
Ben Wall, head of Portfolio Management for Poundland and Dealz Ireland said: “We are delighted to be opening a new store in Carrickmines Park as we continue to expand our Irish portfolio, further committing to the Irish economy."
Community Retailer
Now part of the PEPCO group, Dealz was founded in the UK in 1990 and offers 1000’s of top brands and quality own-brand products and was nominated in 2019 by Retail Week for Value Discounter of the Year and also Private Label of the Year for their PEPANDCO brand.
"We’re a community retailer and at a time when more people are shopping local, we’re proud of the amazing value we bring on the essentials and more they need. We look forward to welcoming customers to our new stores – including Carrickmines Park - in the weeks and months ahead,” Wall said.
The joint letting agents on behalf of IPUT Real Estate Dublin, which owns Carrickmines Park were Savills and BNP Paribas Real Estate.
