Did you know ...? A winter solstice celebration is planned for Waterford City on the evening of 21 December 2022. The collaborative event – planned by the Waterford City Arts Office, the Waterford Treasures’ Irish Museum of Time and the Winterval festival – will offer live music and a fireworks display. The evening will commence at 8pm on the Plaza, with a pre-celebration for the winter solstice at 8.15, at the Museum of Time on Greyfriars Street, where a very special new outside clock, named Tempus Fugit (Time Flies) will be unveiled by the Mayor of Waterford, Cllr John O’Leary, horologists David Boles and Colman Curran, and a representative from Fáilte Ireland.
Did you know ...? Gruppo Selex, Italy’s second-largest retail chain, plans to invest €340 million in 2023, in opening 63 supermarkets and renovating 73 stores. The group noted that it is set to close 2022 with gross sales of €18.5 billion, reports ESMmagazine.com. This represents growth of 3.6%, compared to the previous year – +4%, like for like – consolidating the consortium’s market share, which is currently at 14.7%.
Did you know ...? Newly released search data reveals that Shein is the world’s most popular fashion brand, followed by Zara and Zalando. Compared to the same data from last year, when Zara took the top spot, it demonstrates Shein’s meteoric rise in popularity over the last 12 months. The research, compiled by Money.co.uk, analysed 12 months of Google search data to find out which fashion brand is the most searched for in each country in the world. Shein tops the list in a massive 113 countries across the globe. Founded in 2008 in Nanjing, China, the company prides itself on listing between 500 to 2,000 new products every day, giving consumers something to check for regularly.
