Did you know...? Seven in ten Greek households waste food to some degree, a new study by IELKA has found, with around 300,000 tonnes of food ending up wasted on an annual basis. The Greek consumer goods research institute found that 60% of households state that up to 10% of the food they purchase is wasted, with 9% saying that 10% to 25% is wasted and 2% saying that more than 25% is wasted.
Did you know...? Drinks Ireland has launched a new pub campaign called #BeSound. Drinks Ireland stated, "Festive pub-goers heading to their favourite venues this Christmas season are being asked to #BeSound, in a campaign launched by Drinks Ireland. The #BeSound campaign is encouraging customers to Respect the Guidelines in these spaces. Cover-19 measures are in place to keep these venues safe and open, and patrons are reminded to wash their hands, use hand sanitiser, stick to their table and wear a mask when walking around.
Did you know...? New Zealand plans to ban young people from ever buying cigarettes in their lifetime in one of the world's toughest crackdowns on the tobacco industry, arguing that other efforts to extinguish smoking were taking too long. People aged 14 and under in 2027 will never be allowed to purchase cigarettes in the Pacific country of five million, part of proposals that will also curb the number of retailers authorised to sell tobacco and cut nicotine levels in all products.
