Did you know ...? The Tree Council of Ireland, supported by SPAR, is encouraging primary-school children across the country to take the pledge and plant a tree on SPAR National Tree Day, this Thursday, 6 October 2022. This year’s theme – ‘Root for Nature’ – encourages children, parents and teachers to connect directly with nature by planting one of 2,000 free native Irish holly tree saplings. Did you know ...? Italian grocery retail group Alì has opted to close its stores on Sundays and holidays in order to save on energy bills, reports ESMmagazine.com. In addition, the supermarket group – located in the Veneto region – is increasing the production of renewable energy using heat produced by refrigerators to heat sanitary water, rolling out photovoltaic systems, and switching to LED lamps, cutting its consumption in half.

Did you know ...? Carrefour Poland, together with its strategic partner PepsiCo, has launched a pilot promotional programme using self-driving eRobots. Two devices selling Pepsi beverages and Lay’s crisps are already operating in Carrefour stores in the Westfield Arkadia and Galeria Wileńska shopping centres in Warsaw, reports ESMmagazine.com. Sylwester Mroczek, manager of the retail format and concept development department at Carrefour Poland, commented, “The new interactive Kerfuś eRobots are another example of innovation in Polish commerce, which we have implemented to broaden the shopping experience of consumers.”
