Dunnes Stores has reportedly withdrawn from a possible takeover deal of Donnybrook Fair.
It is believed that the talks between the two retailers have been ongoing for some which suggested they were nearing a conclusion.
The discussions are understood to have recently ended, however, after a price could not be agreed, reports the Irish Times.
One of Dunne’s rivals could now complete a buyout.
Back In Profit
Donnybrook Fair which has six outlets in Dublin and Wicklow, is reportedly back in profit following the opening of its most recent store in Malahide, North County Dublin.
Recently published accounts for Donnybrook Fair Limited showed that the firm’s turnover increased by more than €3.7 million during the year to 31 January 2017.
Sales reportedly hit the €27.6 million mark during the 12-month period.
The firm attributed the increase of sales to 'its first full-year of business in Malahide'.
