Dunnes Stores has been voted the most popular destination for shoppers sourcing items for the school term, according to a study by loyalty provider Reep Rewards.
The survey of 1,600 families found that the low cost of school uniforms was cited as a main reason why shoppers chose Dunnes, with almost 50% of respondents nominating Dunnes Stores as their preferred choice for uniforms.
At the same time, Tesco and Aldi rated highly for their range of lunchbox fillers.
The study found that just 10% of shoppers completed their entire back-to-school shop at one retailer, while one in eight cited newspaper ads as a key deciding factor in choosing where to shop.
'Typically, families will choose their preferred retailer according to three primary drivers: price, brand loyalty and vouchers/coupons,' the study found. 'However, during the back-to-school period, these drivers change to: value for money, uniform items and lunchbox fillers.'
