Electric Ireland has been selected to supply energy to the Musgrave Group for the next two years.
The new contract, valued at approximately €15 million, is based on the supply of 100% renewable energy.
Electric Ireland Energy Services will also provide energy efficiency audit support to assist Musgrave in achieving its ISO 50001 Energy Management Standard.
Electric Ireland will provide approximately 66 GWh per annum to 48 Musgrave sites throughout the Island of Ireland, including 39 stores in the Republic and nine sites in Northern Ireland. This is the first time that Musgrave’s depots and owned stores have aligned themselves with an Irish electricity provider for 100% renewable energy supply.
Announcing the contract, Electric Ireland’s Tony Dunlea, head of industrial and commercial Sales, said: “We are extremely pleased that Musgrave’s has chosen to partner with Electric Ireland throughout the Island of Ireland. Energy efficiency is important to Musgrave and we are looking forward to providing them energy efficiency audit support and helping to drive cost-savings and energy efficiency for them in the months to come.”
