Emmet O’Neill has been appointed to take over as Chief Executive of Topaz, the chairman of Topaz Energy United Ireland Ltd, John Callaghan, has announced.
O’Neill will take over the role on February 1, 2015, until which time Sean Corkery will continue as acting CEO.
Entrepreneur O’Neill founded Smiles Dental in 2005, and over the following decade has grown the business to reach 78 branches across the UK and Ireland.
O’Neill sold the firm earlier in the year and was appointed to the Board of Topaz in March. Since then, he has led a number of projects at the company.
Chairman of Topaz, John Callaghan said: “Emmet is one of the outstanding young entrepreneurs in Ireland and we are very much looking forward to his leadership and his exciting plans for the business.”
O’Neill also commented, saying “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this role at Topaz and to be working with a great team of employees and business partners across the country.
“We aim to build a world class retail and fuel business and to expand our operations significantly over the coming years. Everybody connected with the Topaz business has been incredibly welcoming and I know they all share our ambition for the business,” he added.
