Eurospar Hartstown has been named as one of the 30 finalists in the AIB Merchant Services Retail Excellence National Awards 2024, organised by Retail Excellence Ireland (REI).
As part of the Furey Smyth Eurospar Group – a network of seven prominent nationwide supermarkets – the store has been part of the community in Hartstown for more than three decades.
Eurospar Hartstown, and the Furey Smyth Group, operate with an ethos of customer-centric business.
Hence, the business holds customer service and satisfaction as one of its key core values.
Revamp
The Dublin store recently underwent a major revamp, which emphasises their commitment to the local area.
As part of the Furey Smyth’s overall €2 million investment programme to significantly improve the environmental sustainability of its supermarkets across Ireland, Eurospar Hartstown now has energy efficient lighting across the store.
It also has a comprehensive infrastructure optimisation initiative aimed at identifying energy efficiency opportunities across all aspects of retailing, including heating limiters, timed lighting, and regular technology maintenance.
Solar panel installations and an expansive refrigeration infrastructure are also in place to reduce energy consumption and its carbon footprint.
The Store of the Year competition is the central part of the AIBMS Retail Excellence Awards.
The aim of the awards, established in 1997, is to promote best practice and encourage the highest standards in the Irish retail industry.
