Eight Dublin off-licences in the Fitzgerald Group will now trade under Barry Group’s Carry Out brand, bringing the number of independently owned Carry Out Off-Licences in the country to 100.
The 100th group store has been announced as Louis Fitzgerald’s Carry Out off-licence at the Penny Hill in Lucan, West Dublin, which has recently undergone rebranding as part of this trade deal.
The new trading arrangement has been welcomed by both Louis Fitzgerald and his son Eddie Fitzgerald, who had been the main instigator of the Carry Out off-licence deal.
“In reviewing our off-licence operations, Eddie was convinced of the benefits of being part of a strong national brand. The enhanced services and range from Carry Out, as well as better buying power and price we could offer our customers was a key decider”, explained Louis Fitzgerald.
Jim Barry, Managing Director of the Barry Group in Mallow, described the Fitzgerald Group’s inclusion in the Carry Out operation as ‘a major vote of confidence in the independent off-licence brand.’
“We are delighted to welcome retailers of the calibre of the Fitzgerald Group on board, and to celebrate the significant milestone of our 100th Carry Out off-licence in Ireland,” he commented.
