The Floradecora trade fair, a new fair for fresh flowers and decorative plants, is set to take place from the 27 to the 30 January 2017 in Frankfurt am Main. It will be held at the same time as Christmasworld, combining festive and seasonal decorations with fresh flowers and thus offering the trade a host of new decorative ideas.
In an increasing number of cities, initiatives are being launched to transform brownfield sites into beautiful green areas and competitions are being held to find the most attractive balcony. With more and more people moving into cities, there has been a growing demand for green surroundings.
"At the same time, we are taking account of the needs of the fresh-flower market, which is looking for new sales channels for its products", says Christmasworld Director Eva Olbrich, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. Thus, flower growers, producers and flower wholesalers are very interested in making contact with the bulk-buying trade and new sales channels, e.g., DIY markets, garden centres, furniture stores, decoration shops and gift boutiques.
In distinction to older target groups, young people know little about plants and expect uncomplicated yet attractive solutions explains Britta Tröster, Flower and Decorative Plant Product Manager of Agrarmarkt InformationsGesellschaft mbH. Therefore, it is necessary to create simple offers for them. Readymade floral arrangements for instance require little effort. And the latest figures confirm that this is the way to go, with the market for finished flower and plant products growing.
