Massey's Costcutter in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin was amongst the big winners at last night's Costcutter Store of The Year Awards, winning the Costcutter Foodmarket Of The Year category for the fourth successive year.
Massey's was a double winner on the event, also taking home the award for Costcutter Off-Licence of the Year.
Other big winners included Doherty's Costcutter Carndonagh, Co. Donegal, which was named Costcutter Supermarket Of The Year; Fitzpatrick's Costcutter Kilmilhil, Co, Clare, winner of Costcutter Express Store Of The Year; and Amber Costcutter Fermoy, winner of Best Forecourt.
Liddy's Costcutter Roslevan took home the award for Best Fresh Produce; Amber Tipperary Town was named Best Food To Go; Costcutter Phibsborough won the award for Costcutter Wine Department: Express; while Carney's Costcutter Ballyhaunis took the award for Costcutter Wine Department: Foodmarket.
Moran's Costcutter Dingle took the award for Outstanding Customer Service.
The event, which took place at The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, celebrated excellence in retailing across Costcutter franchised stores.
Speaking at the event, Barry Group managing director Jim Barry said that he expected between 12 and 15 stores to open this year under the franchise.
