The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is holding a free seminar in Cork to assist budding new entrepreneurs and those already working in small food businesses.
The free, half-day seminar will bring together experts from the FSAI, the Health Service Executive and Teagasc to provide support to small businesses, as well as advice on compliance with food safety legislation. The event will takes place from on Thursday 9 October 2014 at Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Tivoli.
On the day, experts will explore a range of topics, including registering a new food business, food product development and food safety training requirements. There will also be a number of Q&A sessions throughout the morning, and experts will be available after the event for further discussion.
According to Prof. Alan Reilly, Chief Executive, FSAI, “All food businesses, whether big or small, must be aware of their legal obligations regarding food hygiene and food safety. Our aim is to make it easier for new businesses to comply with all the various requirements and food regulations, and thereby reduce the barriers faced by food entrepreneurs seeking to enter the food sector”.
