Fyffes Teams Up With Dundalk FC To Raise Funds For Temple Street

Fyffes has partnered with Dundalk Football Club to raise funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital by designing a bespoke jersey, trunks and socks which will be the club’s third kit for the 2019 season.

Under the initiative, Fyffes has removed its name from the front of the new jersey – replacing it with that of Temple Street Foundation for the duration of the season, the Irish-based banana importer said in a statement.

"The work that Temple Street and other hospitals and health treatment centres do to safeguard and treat the health of our young people is a cause wholly worthy of everyone’s support," said Gerry Cunningham, managing director, Fyffes.

Funding Vital Equipment

Dundalk FC players to Temple Street recently visited the children's hospital which Denise Fitzgerald, chief executive, Temple Street Foundation said, "was one of the highlights of the year and helped bring so much joy and smiles to our patients' faces".

"This partnership is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the incredible, life-saving work that takes place in Temple Street every minute of every day, and the funds raised will be put to work where they are needed most in our hospital," Fitzgerald added.

A limited number of jerseys – finished in Temple Street's purple colours – are now on sale here.

The proceeds of which will go to Temple Street and to funding the vital equipment and care provided for over 147,000 patients treated by the hospital every year.
