Golden Discs has struck a new arrangment with Tesco Ireland which will see the entertainment chain enter 80 of Tesco’s stores.
The three year arrangment begins today, 18 November, and accounts for more than half of Tesco’s Irish stores.
The concessions will operate as standalone units within participating Tesco stores, and offer CDs, DVDs and video games.
Sheila Gallagher, Commercial Director, Tesco Ireland, spoke positively of the deal. “Tesco is committed to providing our customers with the best retail experience possible and to supporting Irish suppliers when the opportunity presents. We are delighted that our customers will be able to enjoy its innovative range of home-entertainment offerings and music, movie and games products as part of their Tesco shop.”
“This is an exciting new chapter for Golden Discs,” said Stephen Fitzgerald, CEO of Golden Discs.
With the deal agreed, Golden Discs becomes Ireland’s largest home-entertainment retailer, and can now boast 94 locations nationwide.
