Iceland Ireland has recently highlighted that it has a gluten-free range in stock ahead of National Coeliac Awareness Week.
The awareness week runs from the 13 to 19 May, 2018.
According to the retailer, the range includes Rule of crumb cheesy garlic bread; Rule of crumb chicken katsu curry; Unislim gorge-us rustic chips and Rule of crumb salted caramel and chocolate profiteroles.
A gluten-free range from Irish supplier James Doherty Meats is also available from Iceland, which includes gluten-free beef burgers, pork sausages and pork cocktail sausages, the group said in a statement.
"As more people are unable to include gluten in their diet, it’s very important that there are plenty of alternative options available to them," said Ron Metcalfe, managing director of Iceland Ireland.
"Our gluten-free customers can avail of our fresh and frozen range throughout the year.”
About Coeliac Disease
It is estimated one in every 100 people in Ireland suffer with coeliac disease, according to Iceland.
Its essential for those with the condition to have access to suitable products and Iceland have answered these demands, it explained.
The supermarket chain will also offer some barbecue friendly options, 'providing the weather picks up'.
According to the Iceland Ireland statement, these products will be available for National Coeliac Awareness Week and year round across its 26 Irish stores.
