Ireland’s Fittest Family Returns As Sponsor Londis Offers Prizes In-Store

Ireland’s Fittest Family returned to RTÉ on Saturday 4 January, once again proudly sponsored by Londis.

Veteran coach and co-creator Davy Fitzgerald has returned for season 12, along with 2024 coaching champion Donncha O’Callaghan, world champion and Olympic silver medallist Sonia O’Sullivan and camogie legend Anna Geary – who has returned to the show following a season off.

RTÉ 2FM presented Laura Fox will again host the show.

Now in its sixth year supporting the show, leading community retailer Londis is bringing the excitement of Ireland’s Fittest Family directly to customers by giving away over €20,000 worth of prizes in stores across the country.

The in-store competition will give five schools the chance to win €2,000 worth of sports equipment, as well as one lucky shopper in each store receiving a €100 O’Neill’s voucher.

The competition runs from 6 January to 1 March 2025.

All winners – including the five schools – will be announced by 31 March 2025.

To enter, shoppers can scan the QR code in Londis stores nationwide and input their details for a chance to win.

‘Some Great Competition’

At the event to mark the start of season 12, Fitzgerald said, “It’s great to have Ireland’s Fittest Family back for another year with our longstanding partner Londis on board for a sixth year.

“I’m looking forward to some great competition from the families competing and all the excitement this season has in store.

“As a Clare man, I’m also looking forward to renewing rivalries with Anna, Donncha and Sonia and hope we can get another victory over Cork this year!”

Conor Hayes, the sales director at Londis, added, “We’re excited to be back for our sixth year partnering with Ireland’s Fittest Family.

“As a family of retailers at Londis, we strongly regard the family values that sit at the heart of every community.

“For that reason, the show is the perfect fit for us and a way for us to give back through supplying sports equipment to schools and clubs across the country.”

‘Heartfelt Condolences’

Hayes also paid tribute to 15-year-old Cillian Flaherty, who tragically passed away in October after filming the programme with his family over the summer.

Following his death, the Flaherty family gave their blessing for the show to air and honour the memory of Cillian.

Hayes said, “On behalf of everyone at Londis, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Flaherty family.

“We keep Cillian in our thoughts, having tragically passed away after the show was filmed.”
