Irish supermarkets scooped up the awards at the 2018 International Great Taste Awards, with all the big names announcing multiple product champions.
Established in 1994, the Great Taste Awards featured over 12,000 products, which were blind-tasted by a panel of industry experts, including acclaimed chefs, restaurateurs and food critics, to find the best-tasting entries.
SuperValu were the biggest winners, achieving an impressive 79 award wins, making them the top-performing Irish supermarket at the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards.
SuperValu’s Musgrave partner Centra claimed 35 accolades at the event.
Tesco Ireland, which was recently announced as Ireland’s biggest supermarket by Kantar, was awarded a total of eight awards for its Finest fresh meat products.
Dunnes Stores took home 20 awards for its Simply Better range.
Discount retailer Aldi collected 34 awards while it’s sister store Lidl was awarded 3 prestigious stars for the Crafty Brewing Company Lager.
