The Irish Exporters Association (IEA) has launched the 2013 edition of the Top 250 Exporters in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The top 20 featured Kerry Group (8th), Glanbia (17th), The Irish Dairy Board (21st), ABP Food Group (23rd) and Kelloggs (27th).
The top five food and beverage companies in Ireland between them generated export revenues of €13.6 billion while indigenous companies generated a combined €17 billion.
Microsoft was the largest exporter in Ireland, followed by Google (2nd), Johnson & Johnson (3rd) and Dell (4th).The Exporters List, created with specialist bank and wealth and investment manager Investec, also showed that 12 of the top 50 export companies are food and beverage firms.
Aisling Dodgson, Head of Treasury, Investec, said: “The export sector has a key role to play in helping the economy to grow and allow Ireland emerge as a global player into the future.” The report was launched by Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore and is now in its third year.
