Lidl will be an official partner of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournament, continuing the retailer’s support of women’s sport.
The partnership will also build on Lidl Ireland’s long-standing relationship with the Ladies’ Gaelic Football Association (LGFA), continuing the retailer’s promotion of an active, healthy lifestyle.
Lidl – which has committed more than €10 million to the development and promotion of the LGFA since 2016 – holds an extensive portfolio of support for women’s sports internationally, including handball and cycling.
This new partnership will see the retailer extend its reach to women’s soccer for the first time, and it will extend to all Lidl markets across Europe.
‘Smash Inequality’
Speaking about the announcement, the chief executive officer of Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland, Robert Ryan, said, “We are immensely proud to share that Lidl will be an official partner of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournament.
“This is a significant milestone in our support for women’s sports and further underscores our commitment to the development, promotion and investment in Ladies’ Gaelic Football over the last nine years.
“There has been a huge amount of progress to elevate women in sport, but there is still a long way to go.
“At Lidl, we’re fully committed to investing in accelerating the process of change in our society, as female athletes deserve our support.
“This new international partnership is another tangible step we’ve taken to help smash inequality in sport and encourage the public to fill every seat at every game.
“We’re exceptionally proud to put our weight behind the tournament next year, and to see some incredible games over the course of the event.”
