Lidl Ireland has announced the official reopening of its store on Cornmarket Street, Co. Cork following a refurbishment.
The store – which has been closed to the public since 3 January – will reopen its doors on Thursday 20 March at 7.30am.
Providing an enhanced shopping experience for customers, the refurbished store will feature high walls and ceilings, wider aisles, 17 new self-service checkouts, and two Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) machines.
It will also feature a larger in-store bakery and off-licence.
As part of the opening, All-Star and former Cork ladies’ Gaelic football and camogie champion Rena Buckley will join the Cornmarket store team and customers to officially cut the ribbon for the refurbished store.
Advancing Lidl’s community-focused objectives under its ‘A Better Tomorrow’ corporate social responsibility programme, and to mark the re-opening, the staff at the Cornmarket store have chosen Cork Penny Dinners to receive €10,000 worth of Lidl vouchers.
‘A Whole New Shopping Experience’
Speaking ahead of the store opening, Lidl Ireland’s regional property director James Purcell said, “Having served the Cornmarket community since 2014, I am thrilled to announce the re-opening of our Lidl Cornmarket store later this month, bringing a whole new shopping experience to the local community.
“There has been a lot of excitement in the area about the refurbished store, and we’d like to thank the customers and local community for their patience during the refurbishment.
“The store looks fantastic, offering an enhanced shopping experience, featuring express tills, and self-service checkouts.
“We’re very excited to re-open the doors and welcome shoppers to experience the new features of the store and join us in celebrating the highly anticipated re-opening on Thursday 20 March.”
